A former newspaper editor and reporter, Dave Spratt has had a lifelong curiosity about the natural world. Dave loves to hunt deer, turkeys and waterfowl, hasn’t decided whether he likes lake fishing or river fishing better, and can often be seen planting a tree (native species only, please), peering into the canopy after some barely perceptible songbird or rubber-necking his way down Michigan roadways at anything he can spot moving.
